fter completing my internship I embarked on a two-year research fellowship. During this time, I
Afocused on studying iron deficiency and the production of red blood cells. This hands-on research
experience was formative both professionally and personally. It allowed me more time with my family
and provided a welcome pause from the rigorous demands of residency.
