Life at the Swamp House with the Arrival of
Michael (1968)
e rented a house west of Kingston, near Little Cataraqui Creek, which we affectionately called the “Swamp House.”
WThe tight-knit community included other medical residents, and we built friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
Despite the modest conditions, those days were memorable for the mix of hard work, community spirit, and leisure. Helen
was able to build a large garden to support the family. Our family grew again on March 23, 1968 with the arrival of
62 Michael, a brother for Sharon.
