The ship can respond that the signals have been received by:
- Raising the response antenna with vertical red and white stripes fully up.
- Sending a series of "T" signals (─) using the Morse code with a flashing light.
- Changing course.
The ship can respond that the signals cannot be followed by:
- Raising the international flag signal "N" (a square flag divided into blue and
white sections).
- Sending a series of "N" signals (─ ●) using the Morse code with a flashing
light.
1.6.3.4 Signals from distressed and rescue ground patrols to aircraft
The aircraft commander must be familiar with and understand the meaning of
the signals in Tables 1 and 2 of the annex to BL 7-4.
