Navigation

The most used function is “Direct to”, by using that you can choose in

the database which point you want to go to.

It is also possible to create a route with several points, but 90% of our

flights we normally carry out with the “Direct To” function.

                GPS systems are:

                 - guaranteed to be accurate to within 99.4% for instrument approaches 95%

                    of the time

                 - susceptible to jamming and interference

                 - guaranteed to be accurate to within 10 meters constantly

                 - signals can be blocked during abnormal flight attitudes

We must acknowledge that GNSS systems have partly made VDF, ADF and VOR

                navigation redundant for VFR flight.

Navigation systems such as SKYDEMON are the solution for pilots who want to

                perform safe navigation.

The school recommends that you as a

student try SKYDEMON and learn to

use it during flight and for flight

planning. It is a relatively inexpensive

                system.

Make an emergency plan if the IPAD goes black in the summer heat. The line on

the map is worth its weight in gold in such a situation.
