1.5.6.3 Approach charts

Approach charts are provided for information about the airfield.

The approach chart is on the same page in the VFG as the Airport information.

You can see the approach chart for EKVB below.

You can see the runways symbolized with directions. You can also see the areas

Birgittelyst and Hald Ege, both marked with dark blue. You should avoid flying

over these towns.

The course and distance to the nearest VOR, AAL VOR, are indicated.

You can also see a symbol with 5 bars.

This indicates that there is a beacon at the airfield (Beacon).

Using the approach map, we can find Viborg Airport.
