1.5.6.5 Airfield information
We are still missing some information before we can fly to the airfield.
For example: When is the airfield open? Is it standard left-hand patterns? Are
there local traffic regulations? How long is the grass? Is everything in order at
the airfield?
To answer these questions, we need to examine the file
with the last name "TEXT." There are 2 pages.
Here are the key pieces of information for EKVB:
- For example, it shows that landings and takeoffs are permitted when the
AD (airfield) is open.
- When it says AD: MON-FRI 0800-2100
(0700-2000), it means that the
airfield's opening hours from Monday
to Friday during the "wintertime"
period are from 0800 to 2100 UTC.
Locally, this means it is open from 0900
to 2200 local time.
In the "summer time" period, the
opening hours are 0700-2000 UTC,
which corresponds to 0900-2200 local
time (same local time for both
summer and winter).
On Saturdays, Sundays, and public
holidays, the neighbors of the airfield
need their morning rest, so the
opening is delayed by one hour.
- If you wish to use the airfield outside of the specified times, PPR (Prior
Permission Required) is required. This must be requested from the ADO one
hour before the service ends.
