                1.5.8 Signals and signs

At airports that do not provide services or where there is no radio

communication requirement, information may be provided using signals placed

                in a designated signal area.

                1.5.8.1 Ground signals

The signs shown below can either be placed at specific locations or on a signal

                platform at the airport.

If radio communication is not available, it is possible to see the laid-out signs

while overflying the airport. Outside service hours, the landing T will not be

                displayed.

Landing Prohibited: A red square with yellow diagonals means that

landing at the airport is prohibited. This prohibition will be in effect

                             for a longer duration.

Special Caution Required: A red square flag with a yellow diagonal

means caution is required due to the poor condition of the

                             maneuvering area or other reasons.
