Air Law

Once you have received clearance from the control zone’s air traffic control unit

for special VFR, you may fly with a visibility of at least 1.5 km, clear of clouds,
                and with ground visibility.

Remember the minimum flight altitude of 500 feet above terrain or above

obstacles within 150 meters of the aircraft’s position!

If the meteorological conditions at the

airport indicate lower values than the

required 1.5 km visibility, the flight may

proceed if you have at least 1.5 km flight

                visibility.

You may be allowed to cross outside the
traffic circuit, but you must not land,

take off, or enter the traffic circuit!

Remember, you must request special VFR if you do not have 5 km flight visibility

or cannot comply with the cloud distance requirements.

You cannot fly special VFR outside of a control zone.

When flying special VFR flights, it must be conducted clear of clouds
and with ground visibility, as well as an IAS below 140 KT.

1.4.6.4 VFR flight without ground visibility

VFR flight without ground visibility is defined as VFR flight without the surface

of the earth or sea in sight.

                  - The pilot: Must have at least 150 hours of flight time as a pilot, of which at

least 75 hours are on aircraft.

                  - The aircraft: Must be registered for IFR.

                  - Planning: Weather reports must indicate that the entire flight can be

                      carried out in VMC.
