Interception  of  civilian  aircraft  will  be  avoided.  Normally  it  is  only  about

               identification. However, it may be necessary to direct you back to the planned

               flight path or away from prohibited, restricted or danger areas. It may also be

               necessary to guide you down to landing.




               Normally the intercepting aircraft will take up a position to your left and visually

               give instructions.


               You must then immediately:

                  1. Follow these instructions and any respond to the visual signals.


                  2. If possible notify the relevant air traffic service unit.

                  3. Attempt to establish two-way radio contact with the intercepting aircraft,


                     or the unit in command of that aircraft, by making a general call on the
                     distress frequency 121.5 MHz.


                  4.  If  you  have  a  transponder,  squawk  7700  mode  A  unless  otherwise

                     instructed.

               More detailed instructions can be found in VFG ENR 1.12.


               There is a requirement that during flight you have a list of the procedures related

               to interception, as described in BL. 5-61.
