Driveways (for cars and the like) are provided with white side markings, either
as a single line, or as shown here:
Side markings on taxiways for aircraft are 2 parallel yellow lines.
If these lines are carried over, for example, an apron,
where you must drive off the taxiway, the lines are
dotted as shown here.
X markings like these indicate that a runway or taxiway is
not usable. It can also be a part of a runway or taxiway
which is located between 2 marked intersections.
Where taxiways intersect, a waiting position may
be marked.
Where a taxiway is adjacent to a runway, the
marking is different. Here is the double dashed
line when you come from one side. It means:
"STOP RWY ahead". Before crossing, you need
permission to do so from the tower.
If you are crossing in the direction from the RWY into the apron, you can just
pass without calling out. When the sign and markings on the taxiway have been
passed, you are clear of the runway.
When you taxi through a departure or arrival
area, you will encounter the red sign that says
"15 APCH".
You must then have permission to pass.
