This spring’s Middle School musical, Disney’s Aladdin Jr., wrapped up on March 30th and 31st.The cast had one performance in front of the student body, followed by two evening performances. The production was directed by Mrs. Byford and was under the musical direction of Ms. Smith.
When I rst heard that Aladdin Jr. was going to be the Middle School musical, I was really excited to see what the nal product would look like because it was always one of my personal favorites. After watching the show, I was really impressed with how well the cast and crew worked to make the production run so smoothly. This is a musical professional actors and companies have a hard time achieving at times, so the fact that our Cascia Hall students and teachers were able to work together to put on such an outstanding show was really amazing to see.
It’s important to remember and appreciate how much time these students put into their roles. Rehearsals started right after auditions. Everyone seemed to be having a good time on stage, which made it more entertaining to watch as an audience member.
The cast for this production couldn’t have been better. Everyone who had a part was able to showcase their unique talent, from singing and dancing, to making the audience laugh. Eighth grade students, Zoe Gardner and Luke Baber, starred as Jasmine and Aladdin, showing impressive vocals from start to nish. Brendon Blake did a great job playing the Sultan with his authoritative, yet kind,
