being instructed to build a copy of the Tabernacle on earth.
The reason for Moses talking with God, while facing the
atonement Cover, is that Moses was not able to en-ter the
Ark of the Covenant. In reality, the Ark of the Covenant’s
size was what stopped Moses from entering it. The Ark ark
of Covenant’s length was 2.5 Cubits, while the length and
height was 1.5 cubits. It was a small box.
“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and
a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a
cubit and a half its height.” (Exodus 25:10)
One cubit is about a length of an average adult’s fingertip to
the elbow, —an average of about 17.7 to 19.6 inches. Based
on a cubit being twenty inches, we can calculate that the Ark
of the Covenant’s length to fifty inches, and its width and
height are each thirty inches, respectively. I often refer the
Ark of the Covenant’s size to a small apple box. These sizes
are very similar.
Maybe a young child fit in there, but an average sized
adult would not be able to enter it. In other words, nobody
was able to enter the Ark of the Covenant. What then does
