at the Circle K
with a sausage biscuit
just waiting to pay
When I saw her pull up
in a red tow truck,
before she got to the door
I had fallen in love,
With her big green eyes
and the oil on her chin
she was beautifully built
like a Mercedes Benz.
And I couldn’t help stare
as she walk down the aisle;
she glanced at me there
and she gave me a smile.

I was born in Michigan but my family moved
around quite a bit when I was young. We
eventually ended up in West Virginia where
my family roots go back many generations on
both sides of the family for several hundred
years. Blues and Country music are in my
blood I suppose.
I began writing poems at a young age but
began focusing on song lyrics in College at
Marshall University. This is where I picked
up my first guitar and began playing my own
songs with my school friends. Folk, Bluegrass,
Blues and Country music probably have
shaped my style of writing the most.
After graduating MU with a Liberal Arts
degree in Secondary Education I relocated
to sunny Florida. Never pursuing a teaching
job, I have made my living in the field of Civil
Engineering (got to have a day job).
Song writing has remained a passion for me.
I love telling stories in my lyric’s sometimes
influenced by the stranger then life situa-
tions I seem to find myself in. I perform my
original songs at folk festivals, local breweries,
nonprofit events and many open mike venues
in the Orlando area. We have hosted a
semimonthly “Firejam” out here on Lake
Hickory Nut near Winter Garden Florida for
over 25 years. At our “Firejams” songwriters
of all levels get together in a fun non-j
udgmental atmosphere and share our original
songs. Some of Central Florida’s finest song
writers and performers have graced our fire
circle over the years.
I have a home studio where I record my
