Storm Tree
Storm tree stands there all alone Lightning blazes near her roots
Leaves all lost from the winds blown Coming close in violent shoots
Through the meadow Still she stands there resolute
Ripped off leaves a blazing trail In the meadow
Shaking limbs in thundering gales
In the meadow Cracks of thunder bursts of light
Silently she puts up fight
Lightning striking all around In the meadow
Overhead into the ground Wind blows hard against her boughs
Still the storm tree stands her ground Bending her sleek branches down

Thunder rings out hard and loud Defiantly resisting all

Never touching finding ground

Thunderbolts come crashing through In the meadow
Still she stands there proud and true She has overcome the storm
Sky is flashing white and blue Elegantly keeps her form

Rain comes down with brutal force Storm tree standing proud and tall
Striking bark and changing course Withstood hell and didn't fall
Through the meadow Silently she took it all
Pounding hard into the tree In the meadow...
Still she stands defiantly
