Country Folk Promotions Facebook Group
I began Country Folk Promotions Facebook Group
to help promote Country Music artists that were
not signed to any label worldwide. My friend Fran-
cis Donnelly gave me the idea. Fancis, who was
diagnosed with a brian tumour, and is going from
day to day. he said there was a lot of great talent out
there not getting a chance. The radio always played
the same people, Nathan Carter, Johnny Cash etc
and other singers just as talented were overlooked.
So, with this in mind, I set up the Facebook group
and put out the word what we were doing, and
soon it started to gain attention. Very slowly at
first, people joined the group and made enquiries
about our CD. We had artists from Austria,
Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Canada and the USA
among others. so Worldwide Country Volume 1
was born and sent out to DJ’s. One particular DJ
Don Hollander from Ultraradio played our cd
and did a special program on it. Francis Donnelly
inspired me to start the facebook group, and to
look for more great artists. He has inspired lots of
people in our group, “It’s the music” he said, “that
keeps me going, gives me something to live for”.
Don Hollander is a great supporter of Independant
Country Artists.
He thought it was a great idea, and helped us to
attract more artists and DJ’s to support us. The
cd was sent out to all corners of the world and the
reviews were good. We then after a few months
decided to release Volume 2 of Worldwide
Country, which got even better reviews than the
first, and everyone seemed to like it. These CD’s
are put together to promote the artists and the
traditional type of country music.. nobody makes
any money out of the CD’s myself included, but
we have gained some great artists, including from
Canada Robert Hiscock, a wonderful singer
songwriter, from the USA Ferrell Nottingham, a
superb singer of Traditional Country, from Ireland
the afore mentioned Francis Donnelly, a
beautiful singer of both Country and Irish music.
Also from Ireland Geri Kane, styled in what I
call Old School Country, of which Dottie West and
George Jones were leading figures.
