Learn to Learn...
One of the most annoying sayings I have ever heard is “You can’t teach
an old dog new tricks”. This is normally said by people who simply
can’t be bothered to change their ways and explore things they may be
missing out on.
Anyway, my philosophy on this subject is ‘what rubbish!’. Some of the
best stuff that I have learnt has been over the past few years. Take this
magazine for instance. Four years ago, I could barely turn on a PC.
Now, I am a pretty good designer competent in so many methods and
techniques. The thing is, I didn’t just wake up one morning and know
everything, this old dog took the time to learn new tricks.
In another instance, for close on 35 years, I have called myself a
guitarist but secretly been absolutely hopeless until recently when I Taking the time to learn more or explore different roads can only be a

have turned myself into a fair Axe Master. All of the songs I wanted to I hope whatever you learn in life leads you to be a better and more
complete person.
If you strip away all of the complicated stuff which surrounds our lives
and think about what we really need to make our lives better, it comes
down to a few basic things. Take a good look at the picture above and
try to follow those 10 simple rules. It’s nothing new, the same things
that appear in all faiths, all laws and hopefully, which we all strive to
follow. Yet, even these basic things are sometimes the hardest to reach.
I cannot talk about anybody’s life apart from my own nor am I in a
position to preach to others. All I can do, is let you in to the way I
am learning in the hope that you may find some good in it. I get my
lessons and answers to lifes problems through my bible but that is just
me. You may find your answers through meditation, science or prayer
but I believe as long as you arrive at the right destination then what
you are doing is right.
In summary, I think that I have realised that despite my ever-increasing
age, there is still so much more to learn both in life and about life. I
have also learnt that it’s still ok to enjoy learning. Although I look old
and experienced, I am in fact still a student. Maybe a student who has
learnt to be a little wiser in life but a student nevertheless.

learn over the years, I finally have. The great thing is, there is so much
more to learn and I now have the will to keep on learning.
The more truer saying is “You never stop learning.” This is so true
when I think about my own faith, If I gave up on learning about my
spiritual life, how on earth could I improve any part of my life?
Our spiritual lives are the very essence of who we are. Although my
own faith points towards Christianity, whatever you believe in or http://bit.ly/SBT-HaveFaith

all agree that whatever our beliefs, we don’t know everything.
