Doris Moon
With Doris on hand to tighten their nuts they couldn’t
fail. The Yanks had Rosie the Riveter, we Brits had Doris
the Nutter...
Doris Moon was most definitely the
girl that made the thing that drilled
the hole that held the ring that drove
the rod that turned the knob that
worked the thing-ummy-bob that
would help to win the war. Munitions
worker by day, scourge of the Ameri-
can air base of an evening, Doris was
never short of nylons, chocolate or
bananas. She was also partial to the
odd sausage and Wilf Trotter, the
nimble-choppered butcher of Little
Hope...
