Redneck dRink’n
was inspired to write the lyrics “Redneck Drink’n”
I From my days when I lived in Dallas, Texas. The
people there take their “Cowboying and Country
music“ seriously. So, I wrote this with “Blake Shelton”
in mind. He’s a true Country Music artist who can
make it his own.
I loved music at a very young age. My Dad played
Guitar, Accordion, Piano, and Harmonica, when I
was very young. My inspirational artists were Elvis
Presley, U2, Bob Seger, Adele, and The Hollies, to
name a few. My son now plays Guitar, and Piano,
and writes / sings his own material. Writing for me is
100 % Passion. Most of my writing begins while I’m
driving down the road in my truck. Many times, I
pull over to the shoulder of the road and continue to
write, or finish. I write about what moves me at that
very moment.
I write a lot about Love, Relationships, Loss of Love,
And Discovering Love. I try to put in at least 1
hour a day to writing Lyrics. I am mostly inspired
by a couple of words or lines that I hear. About 90
% of the time I work off a Title first. I really love
the creativity process, but, there are times I’ve been
stumped, where lines or lyrics just don’t work, and
don’t flow like they should. So, I start from scratch
again, or move lines and lyrics around that offer me
a new perspective and sound. To get “That Flow,” is
the ultimate challenge for me. Also, what helps me is
when I have “Siri” read it back to me. That helps me
tremendously ! Because, I get to hear the lyrics read
to me by someone else, other than me reading them.
