No. 18 Field Hockey Opens Big Ten Play by Hosting

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 18 Rutgers field hockey begins Big Ten Conference play this weekend. The
Scarlet Knights will welcome No. 4 Maryland on Saturday at 1 p.m.
ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
Rutgers is coming off of a 2-1 win at No. 6 Princeton last Friday, marking the program's highest ever
ranked road win. It marked the second ranked win for the team this season, seventh ranked win in the
last two seasons. Of the program's 13 lifetime ranked wins, 10 of them have come over the last three
seasons. In the win over Princeton, RU received goals from freshman Rachel Houston and
junior Gracey Butsack, both of whom marked their first goal of the season. The team has excelled
defensively, with a 1.14 goals-against-average that ranks 11 in the nation. Goalkeeper Gianna Glatz,

who was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, ranks second in the conference in goals-
against-average and save percentage (0.771).
