No. 18 Rutgers field hockey picked up a huge win on the road in conference play on Friday, defeating No.
21 Ohio State 1-0. Katie Larmour scored the game winner in the first quarter off the first corner of the day.
The Scarlet Knights stellar defense did the rest in shutting down the potent Buckeyes offense.
Ohio State entered the game fourth in the nation in scoring, averaging 3.5 goals per contest. Rutgers
goalkeeper Gianna Glatz proved why she is one of the best in the country, registering five saves to hold the
Buckeyes scoreless for the first time all season.
Rutgers jumped ahead early thanks to Larmour’s team leading sixth goal of the season. Annie Walsh picked
up the first assist of her career. The Buckeyes turned up the pressure in the second half, but Glatz rose to the
occasion, making four of her five saves in the game after halftime. Here is a crucial one late in the game.
