Ohio State (6-7; 1-4) held a 13-8 shot advantage in the game, but they could never breakthrough. It was
Glatz’s third shutout of the season and sixteenth of her Rutgers career.
Head coach Meredith Civico said after the game, “This was a big win for us. Gianna Glatz had an
outstanding performance in goal and the team was very composed and really controlled the game.”
Rutgers (7-6; 2-3) earned its third ranked win of the season and eighth in the past two years. The program
now has fourteen ranked victories all-time, with eleven of them coming the past three seasons.
The Scarlet Knights entered this week with an RPI ranking of 18th and beating the Buckeyes (RPI ranking
26th) was huge to move ahead of them in the Big Ten standings and help their case for the NCAA
Tournament. Rutgers looks to continue in a positive direction this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, taking on Michigan
State (6-8; 0-5) in East Lansing.
