GILBERT, Ariz. — Whitney Harris, senior defender from No. 22 Ohio State University, and Lisa van der
Geest, senior defender from Lafayette College, have been named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA
Division I Co-Defensive Players of the Week. While Austyn Cuneo, redshirt-senior defender from No. 16
Rutgers University, has been named this week's Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division I Offensive Player
of the Week.
Austyn Cuneo, Rutgers University, RSr., Defender (Waterford Works, New Jersey)
Cuneo factored into every goal in No. 16 Rutgers University's two-win weekend. In the Scarlet Knights'
3-0 win over No. 8 University of Michigan on Friday, Cuneo tallied one goal and two assists. Her four
points helped Rutgers to their second top-10 win of the season and their first-ever win over the
Wolverines. On Sunday, she scored the game-winning goal against Temple University. Cuneo was
important on both sides of the ball as she and the Rutgers defense shutout both of their weekend
opponents.
Cuneo was named Big Ten Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the honor with
Madison Maguire from No. 2 University of Maryland. The Scarlet Knights moved up to No. 16 in the
NFHCA Coaches Poll, the team's highest ranking of the season, and are 13th in the NCAA RPI. The
team will conclude the regular season at Penn State on Sunday, then return to State College for the
Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals on November 7.
