and points (50). The newcomer was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week five times this season and NFHCA
Division I Offensive Player of the Week on September 25. Baekers is the second Wildcat to earn the Big Ten’s
top freshman honor and the first since Lisa McCarthy in 2012. Cellucci claimed her first career Big Ten
Coach of the Year honor after leading Iowa to the program’s 12th Big Ten Championship. The Hawkeyes
amassed a 13-4 record and a 7-1 mark in conference play while ranking second in the league in goals (54),
points (152), shots (284) and assists per game (2.59) en route to a No. 7 ranking in the NFHCA Coaches Poll.
Cellucci helped Iowa claim the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the Hawkeyes’ highest seed since
2008.

Fernandez Lacort was one of three unanimous selections to the All-Big Ten First Team along with Maguire
and Iowa’s Katie Birch. The rest of the first team consisted of Iowa’s Maddy Murphy, Maryland’s Emma
DeBerdine and Keus, Michigan’s Halle O'Neill, Northwestern’s Baekers, Ohio State’s Mackenzie Allessie, and
Rutgers’ Katie Larmour and Gianna Glatz. The Big Ten also recognized nine Sportsmanship Award honorees.
The students chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical
behavior. These students also must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good
citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
