Pituitary Gland
The pituitary gland is located below
the hypothalamus which affects
growth and production of the body.
Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
controls the production of gametes
- egg cells and sperm cells.
Luteinizing hormone (LH) controls
estrogen and testosterone making,
as well as ovulation.
Melatonin controls sleep and wake
cycles.
Oxytocin helps with lactation,
childbirth, mother-child bonding.
Prolactin promotes breast milk
production.
Antidiuretic hormone or arginine
vasopressin controls water loss by
the kidneys.
