Pituitary Gland



         The pituitary gland is located below
         the  hypothalamus  which  affects
         growth and production of the body.















           Follicle  stimulating  hormone  (FSH)
            controls the production of gametes
            - egg cells and sperm cells.

           Luteinizing  hormone  (LH)  controls

            estrogen and testosterone making,
            as well as ovulation.
           Melatonin  controls  sleep  and  wake

            cycles.

           Oxytocin  helps  with  lactation,
            childbirth, mother-child bonding.

           Prolactin  promotes  breast  milk
            production.

           Antidiuretic  hormone  or  arginine
            vasopressin controls water loss by
            the kidneys.
