Adrenal Gland
Each adrenal gland sits on top of
each kidney. This is important for
regulating functions such as blood
pressure, heart rate and stress re-
sponse.
Adrenaline increases heart rate,
blood pressure and metabolism in
reaction to stress.
Aldosterone controls the body’s
salt and water balance
Cortisol plays a role in response to
stress.
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate
(DHEA) aids in production of body
odor and growth of body hair at
puberty.
Also produces testosterone.
