The JKA started to formalize teachings, even Master Masatoshi don’t supporting all the changes that he made
in his karate style.
In the year of 1957 Funakoshi died in colorectal cancer, leaving the Shotokan Karate orphan. Considered by
many the as the father of the modern karate, Funakoshi leaved in his place great students and between them,
Master Masatoshi Nakayama that by an intelligent form, propagated the Karate inside and out of Japan, ma-
king the Shotokan style in one of the biggest styles known until nowadays.
