1.0 Order and/or Delegated Procedure:
A regulated healthcare professional is permitted to administer the COVID-19 vaccinations on
completion of required education in Unity Health Toronto’s Vaccination Clinics.
The COVID-19 vaccination may be administered to any healthy individual 16 years of age or older
that meet the vaccination requirements outlined in the consent.
This medical directive will only be implemented if informed consent has been obtained from the
client or their substitute decision maker and the screening process has been completed.
Immunization may be administered at any Unity Health locations in addition to outreach support to
Long Term Care and/or Retirement homes at any time of the day.

2.0 RECIPIENT PATIENTS:
• All staff/physicians and learners at Unity Health Toronto of 16 years of age or older.
• All staff/physicians and learners at assigned Long Term Care and Residential Homes of 16 years
of age or older
• General public who are 16 years of age or older who fall under the provincial criteria for
vaccination as defined by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

3.0 AUTHORIZED IMPLEMENTERS / CO-IMPLEMENTERS:
Any regulated health professional or learner who is permitted will implement the medical directive
in order to administer the COVID-19 IM injection at Unity Health Toronto. This will include RN, RPN,
physicians, learners and other approved regulated health professionals who have successfully
completed the COVID-19 vaccination education and training program and understand the risk and
