•  Administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, intramuscular (IM) injection into the deltoid muscle
                   •  Description of the procedure:
                          o  Client is to complete the screening process.
                          o  Client is to complete the registration process.
                          o  Client is to complete the consent process
                          o  Vaccine administrator will:
                                         •  Confirm the person’s identity.
                                         •  Inquire about contraindications.
                                         •  Inquire if the person is immunosuppressed or has an auto immune
                                            disease.
                                         •  History of anaphylaxis reaction to previous vaccinations
                                         •  Inquire about the person’s has had a history of anaphylaxis to previous
                                            COVID-19 vaccine
                                         •  Inquire if the person is pregnant or breastfeeding.
                                         •  Inquire if the person has a bleeding disorder or is taking medication that
                                            could affect blood clotting.
                                         •  Inquire if they have ever felt faint after past vaccinations or medical
                                            procedures.

                                         •  Inquire if they are allergic to polyethylene glycol.  This product can be
                                            found in makeup, skin care products, laxatives, cough syrup, bowel
                                            preparation products for colonoscopy and some foods and drinks.
                                         •  Inquire if they have received another vaccine (not a COVID-19 vaccine)
                                            within the last 14 days e.g. influenza vaccine.
                                         •  Inform the person of expected benefits, side effects or risks, alternative
                                            courses of action, and the consequences of not having the proposed
                                            treatment.
                                         •  Obtain consent, and document consent in database on Consent form.
                                         •  Offer the person a copy of the Ministry of Health COVID-19 Vaccine
                                            After Care Sheet.
                                         •  Administer injection.
                          o  For individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding a medical consultation with the
                              physician at the clinic is required and an additional consent form is to be completed
                              prior to vaccine administration. Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding will be
                              encouraged to consult in advance with their primary care provider or obstetrical
                              provider, but this will not be mandatory.
                          o  In the event of anaphylaxis administer Epinephrine intramuscularly in a dose of 0.01
                              mg/kg of a 1:1000 (1mg/mL) solution to a maximum of 0.5 mg in adults in the
                              anterolateral thigh and seek medical attention immediately by activating a Code Blue.
                          o  Post vaccination, all persons are to proceed to the recovery area of the vaccination clinic
                              and remain there for 15 minutes for observation and monitoring of adverse events.
