Ten years. I can hardly believe I've spent the last decade
Start Date: February 7, 2011 at St. Michael's - and what an incredible decade it’s been.
While I have many fond memories from my time here, I
have to say, without a doubt, that my most memorable
experience has been working through this global
pandemic. While the entire world was in turmoil, our
small but mighty team in Mental Health and Addiction
Services continued to make our clients a priority. While
other areas of the hospital were flooded with clients with
respiratory distress and other telltale signs of COVID-19,
we knew our clients wouldn’t show these physical
symptoms but would need our help all the same. Afterall,
a mental health emergency IS a medical emergency and
the mental health challenges our clients faced as a result
of the pandemic were very real. We knew that their
mental health mattered. That their care mattered. And
so, my incredible team worked together to make
concessions, accommodations and process changes to
ensure our clients received the care they needed in the
safe, friendly, welcoming environment they are used to. I
have never been so grateful and so very proud to be a
part of a team that puts clients first. Thank you St. Mike’s
for the opportunity to make a difference.
