HORTENSE HAYE Favourite Memory

Working at Providence Health Care has really been an

experience. One of my favourite memories is when one

of my resident’s daughter was taking her home for the

day. I accompanied them to the car park in order to

assist her getting in the car. While standing at the door

of the car my resident was speaking to her daughter (in
their language) in an upset manner. I was then

wondering what is it she was saying about me.

The daughter then turned to me and said “Hortense my

mom really loves you. She said if she is not coming back

to Hortense she is not going in the car”. I then hugged

her an assured her she will be back. She then went in

the car. Her daughter also said after reaching home and

she was there for a while my resident said she wanted
to go home to me. This gave me a sense of purpose,

pride and commitment .
