SHARMILA SANMUGANITHI Favourite Memory
Start Date: June 2016
My greatest moments at Providence have always been related
to helping patients receive the best care possible, provide
better quality patient and staff education, and advocate for the
most excellent patient care. I also love helping students and
learners become successful in their profession, especially when
caring for the most vulnerable population.
There is always a joy in helping nurses and allied healthcare
professionals when they try to transition patients from the
hospital to home—especially providing education to the
patients and families on self-management of their chronic
disease, smoking cessation, Oxygen therapy, non-invasive
ventilation and tracheostomy management.
Those simple gestures of gratitude that I receive from our
patients, families, and staff have lifted me, particularly working
at the frontline to battle against COVID-19.
