MARILOU GLIPO Favourite Memory

One of my favorite memories happened one day during our
Start Date: June 5, 2006 regular day shift at Main Dialysis Unit. It was the usual day

where patients were already in the process of dialysis when

suddenly all the dialysis machines were beeping with the
alarm signals due to “insufficient water supply”, we called

the technologists and was later informed that there was a

water outage due to on-going construction. We had to
shorten the treatment and stopped the patient’s dialysis.

We then had to call all the patients and respective families

to let them know of the issue and instructed them to
proceed instead to the satellite clinic for their treatment.

Most of us, went to the satellite clinic for two days and had
to shorten the treatment for each patient to two hours only

in order to accommodate all patients. Though it’s a bit

exhausting but at the end of the day, the team did well in
serving the patient’s needs during unexpected

circumstances.

It’s always a rewarding experience to be of service during

unprecedented times. In my 15 years of service, the main

dialysis clinic had undergone transformation as well as St.
Joseph Community Centre in general. With these, I’m so

thankful to be a part of this service-oriented organization

delivering leading-edge health care to the community.
