Stabilization Ponds & Sludge Lagoons
Industrial Lagoons
Industrial Lagoons treat a wide variety of industrial wastes. Simple Industrial
Sludge Lagoons rely on evaporation to remove the upper layer of separated
water content prior to removal of the accumulated industrial sludge.
Advanced Industrial Lagoon systems may include a wastewater Stabilization
Pond that has an effluent discharge, coupled with a neighboring Industrial
Sludge Lagoon.
Sludge accumulation in the Pond is pumped to the Sludge Lagoon. The Sludge
Lagoon could also be utilized for emergency diversion of toxic wastewater and
would serve to protect the Stabilization Pond and its effluent quality.
