Young biomass (low SRT) is dominated by simple glob-like Amoebas.
Amoebas are pseudopods and move by extended and retracting
themselves.
They inefficiently consume organics by slowly wrapping around each
organic particle. Amoebas do not consume large amounts of organics
and they settle slowly.
Amoebas are not efficient, ideal organisms!
Young SRT will also have a growing population of Flagellates.
