Moving along the timeline, Flagellates and free-swimming Ciliates
dominate within slightly older but still, younger SRTs.
These organisms are mobile, but swim to the food, and by doing so are
not the most efficient consumers, or fastest settlers.
Flagellates and free-swimming Ciliates settle faster than Amoebas, but
only form weak, light floc, which can under higher flow conditions, wash
over Secondary Clarifier weirs.
This unwanted settling condition is called Straggler Floc.
