Selecting the Ideal Species
Moving even further along the timeline to what would be considered
older biomass (high SRT), Rotifers are found.
Rotifers are Metazoa and should never be the dominate species.
Rotifers are complex organisms which take longer to mature. Rotifers
consume a lot of organic particles from the wastewater and are fast,
independent swimmers.
They indicate a medium to low F/M ratio. Other Metazoa include
Nematodes and Waterbears.
