English vs. Metric
The units commonly used in water treatment typically fall into one of two systems of
measurement: English or Metric.
In general, English units tend to describe larger of units of measure (i.e., lbs. &
gallons).
The Metric system tends to describe units on a much smaller scale (i.e., mL & mg). An
advantage to using the metric system is that all units are related to each other by
factors of 10 (10, 100, 1000, 0.1, 0.01, etc.).
