animal is positioned in 30° left oblique recumbency and prepared for
aseptic surgery. Following insertion of the endoscope, the stomach is
inspected and distended with air from the endoscope. The abdominal
wall is palpated with forceps while the pyloric antrum is viewed to iden-
tify the site for gastropexy. Once the correct orientation of the antrum
to the body wall is obtained, two stay sutures are placed. A large needle
is passed percutaneously caudal to the thirteenth rib through the body
wall and into the antrum of the stomach while viewing with the endo-
scope. The needle is passed back out through the skin and secured with
haemostatic forceps. A second suture is placed in the same manner
