yellowish-white diffuse corneal opacity without ulceration or
VetBooks.ir significant uveitis. The depth of the corneal lesion determines the
severity of the disease. The lesion can be located anywhere from the
epithelium to the endothelium. It usually affects only one eye. It
appears to result from an immune reaction to infectious agents or to
an autoimmune response. Treatment with topical dexamethasone
plus antibiotics is appropriate. The deeper the lesion, the slower
will be recovery and the poorer the prognosis. The condition often
recurs.
