Aftercare


        This depends on which joint was affected and the severity of the damage. Where possible the
  VetBooks.ir  wound is bandaged. Antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication are routinely


        administered.



        Possible complications

        These include:

        •    infection

        •    persistent synovial effusion

        •    bleeding into the joint.



        Tenoscopy


        The  arthroscope  can  also  be  used  to  examine  synovial  tendon  sheaths.  This  is  known  as
        tenoscopy. It is valuable for diagnosis and treatment of problems in the:

        •    digital flexor tendon sheath
        •    the tarsal sheath

        •    the carpal sheath




        Bursoscopy

        This procedure allows inspection and treatment of:

        •    the bicipital bursa
        •    the navicular bursa

        •    the calcaneal bursa.




        It is most commonly used for treating infection of these structures.
