healing. The intent to help and a true empathy with horses is very important for the healer to
activate a strong energy connection. The ego must also be set aside, as must be thoughts of
VetBooks.ir what we want from the horse. Instead, they should be offered unconditional love, thus
allowing the horse the opportunity to work with the healing energy. In this way we allow
healing to flow at the level that is most beneficial for the horse, rather than trying to
manipulate it for our own gain.
It can take only a split second to upset or even harm a horse, but repairing the damage
can take a long time. With healing, we should therefore be generous with our offer of help
when the horse tells us that things are not right for him. Even with healing communication, it
can take quite a while to unravel disturbances deep within a horse and allow him to find
harmony. If the horse is not at peace in his soul he does not stand the best chance of
emotionally being able to cope with whatever life brings, and can become more prone to
physical disorders.
What can healing be used for?
With horses and other animals there is no placebo effect as sometimes occurs with humans,
whereby someone in great need may feel better simply due to the reassuring manner or words
of a practitioner. Through healing, the horse can let go of chaotic and disturbed energy that
humans may release as tears. As a result, there have been good responses reported when
healing is used with horses, and there can often be dramatic improvements. This, of course, is
provided that any lifestyle and management issues have been addressed.
Healing can be offered for any condition, and can be used alongside all types of
veterinary treatment or complementary therapy. Healing can safely be given to any horse
including pregnant mares, newborn foals, and the elderly. Conditions for which healing is
used in horses include pain, distress, grief and other emotional issues, chronic illnesses and
diseases, tumours, wounds, shock and trauma, toxicity, stress, boosting cellular repair and
general wellbeing.
Healing can also be offered to the horse who has no known problems, given simply as an
expression of love. We need to listen to, and respond to, the needs of the horse and that which
he is communicating to us. Healing helps us to take a step forward in this.
