Fannie jerked around. The only thing there was the echo of Brother Tomas’s voice.
He had abandoned her in time.
“Follow the path,” echoed among the mushrooms.
Fannie smiled. Her fear at being abandoned left. Nothing kept her down for long.
Already her mind was thinking about how she could carve a cabin out of one of the
mushrooms to live in. Wondered what was edible and what wasn’t.
The world was Fannie’s oyster and she never let life beat her down. In her heart, she
was unstoppable.
Which is why Fannie found herself walking along the path. Followed it until it
stopped at a series of smaller mushrooms turned into an outpost of sorts. A place for
several people to live with a fire in a large monstrous hearth made of stones. A place
filled with the sensation she was being watched.
“Welcome,” a woman’s voice sounded from inside one of the large mushroom huts.
Fannie moved towards the sound of the voice. Her curiosity far outweighed any
leftover fears. She’d come a long way for answers.
Funny, Fannie discovered she was picking up auras. She shouldn’t be able to do this
in her physical form and yet, when the woman appeared she had a golden aura. The
aura hovered and encased the woman. A delightfully naked woman with a perfect
build and near flawless beauty covered in the scent of raw sex. Drake’s scent.
As Fannie turned her head, she spied a straw cot filled with the body of Drake Lords.
Fannie’s smile increased.
“I knew it,” Fannie damn near squealed. “I knew he wasn’t a werewolf or any other
type of creature I’ve seen in my astral form,”
“What about me?” the creature asked.
Fannie looked hard at this perfect, or nearly perfect woman. She had to admit, she
had never seen anyone or anything like her.
“I am a goddess,” the woman announced. “My sisters are also goddesses.”
Fannie settled back until her back hit a wall. A goddess? It somehow made sense. She
had seen angels and demons. Seen all manner of evil and vile entities ever conceived.
Had witnessed the good too. Fannie believed she had seen all of God’s creations. Yet,
this was her first goddess.
“Which one are you?”
The laughter peeling from this incredible creature made Fannie laugh too. Filled the
tiny hut carved inside a mushroom to shake from the laugher.
“I have had many names over mankind’s tenure on this planet. My function has been
the goddess of sex. What would you like to call me?”
“Your real name,” Fannie answered as she moved to check on Drake’s life signs.
