2018: Our year in review

The past year has brought massive growth in agricul-
tural, commercial and residential projects despite the
changing financial environment and looming trade revi-
sions to Canadian industry.

As we draw 2018 to a close, it is an From all of us at Stonecrest Engineering, we thank you for your

we’ve had to say goodbye to some
employees and friends that have had Steve Miller, P.Eng.
been with us for years. We wished Stonecrest Engineering Inc.
them well in their future endeavours
and were thrilled to add new staff to
fill in the gaps. Our new associates
have hit the ground running and
brought a noticeable sense of energy
and enthusiasm. It only helps to
remind us how fortunate we are to
work in such a dynamic industry with
such wonderful clients.

2018 began much as 2017 had
ended – incredibly busy with many
project designs across all sectors
of the agricultural, commercial and
residential industries. As summer
arrived, we noticed a significant
decline in agricultural activity
– the uncertainty of NAFTA and
its potential influence on supply
management had a dramatic effect
on construction and the number
of projects moving forward. We’re
optimistic that the new USMCA
agreement will return stability to
the market and we expect to see
agricultural construction return to
more typical levels.
