FAMILY

TRANSITION AND FLEXIBILITY WERE THE KEY

As our students continued to enjoy their summer camp activities, New Hope Charities planned the
next step, opening the after school program in August.

Family center staff successfully provided children ages 6-12 with a safe, fun and educational summer
of activities. Camp was in session until school started and then seamlessly transitioned to after school
activities. As we reported previously, New Hope Charities followed all recommended safety and
sanitary rules including wearing masks, frequent hand washing, cleaning all surfaces in classrooms,

and social distancing. Our family center staff, led by director Guillermo Rivera, performed at a level of
professionalism and dedication that was truly inspiring. It was not easy by any measure but we are
proud to let you know that their hard work and dedication are what made this possible.

New Hope Charities prides itself on the ability to maintain flexibility to provide critical services to
children in the Glades. That was required throughout the Covid crisis and we met the challenge.
