J. AWARDS OF DISTINCTION AND ACHIEVEMENT AND GRANTS “BEST
PRACTICES ADOPTED”
Best Practices adopted
a. Involvement of Stakeholders in library development program planning.
Sustaining the university’s guiding principle on participative decision making; the
library management involves the students, parents, faculty, alumni, community members
and other stakeholders in producing the 4 year Library Development Plan. This plan is
included in the University Strategic Plan 2014-2017.Series of consultations have been
conducted to encourage optimal participation of stakeholders.
A concrete outcome of this practice is the increase in the library fee from Php150.00 to
Php350.00 which paved the successful implementation of library development programs.
b. Linkages/Partnerships
A common concern to state universities and colleges is a limited share in terms of
government allocations to finance various programs. Thus , IFSU establishes
linkages/partnerships/collaboration with various agencies, organizations, institutions and
private individuals. The linkage forged between IFSU and partner agencies/institutions has
shifted some funds to higher priority programs.
From January 2021, A total of 45 linkages are maintained .Resource sharing,
exchange publications, donations of library and financial assistance are the primary
activities undertaken by involved agencies or institutions. For the last three years, there
was a continuous increased of linkages.
