Photography and video
In order to ensure that every girl has the chance to sample the full variety of experiences available to her at Headington, we are active in promoting awareness of the ield trips, sporting successes, theatre productions, awards ceremonies and other events that our girls enjoy. Within school, photographs and news of events
and excursions are typically made available via newsletters, notice boards, plasma screens and the School’s internal systems. We also share such photographs and news with the wider community of school supporters, parents, alumnae and prospective parents, using a range of channels that include social media, newsletters, prospectuses, adverts and the School’s website (www.headington.org). We irmly believe that this is the best way to nurture and consolidate the sense of community that is so precious an aspect of life at Headington.
The Photography Permissions form within the electronic enrolment package provides new parents with the option to refuse permission for their daughter’s photographs to be used in print and online publications or to be included in video recordings of school events and productions.
Our policy for taking, using and storing images includes use of images by the press. Where the press are invited in to school, or provided with images, we will always seek to contact parents before giving inal consent for a story to be published. Please note that it is the School’s policy only to use the girls’ irst names in any image or video shared outside the school community.
Parents are welcome to photograph and video their own children in school activities where circumstances permit but, if the images feature other children, they should not be uploaded onto social media sites without the prior permission of the other children/parents. You should also be mindful of copyright restrictions for plays and concerts.
Our full Privacy Notice and information and policy for taking, using and storing images can be found on our website.
