FALL FOR THIS FOUNDATION

Jack & Jill Children’s Center is fortunate to have many amazing community partners. We want to acknowledge one long-
standing partner, The Community Foundation of Broward. Established in 1984, the Community Foundation’s mission is to
provide leadership on community solutions, and foster philanthropy that connects people who care with causes that
matter. And many of their Fundholders care about Jack & Jill.

At Jack & Jill, we want our donors to be excited about our mission-driven work and see the difference they make in the
lives of our families and children. Foundation Fundholders support Jack & Jill in a variety of ways that are personalized to
their philanthropic values. Below are examples of how Fundholders have made their mark on Jack & Jill just this year:

         • Whole Family Strengthening Program - Similar to our donors, Foundation Fundholders are forward-thinkers. They
recognize our community’s needs shift over time and their support must be nimble enough to address a wide-range
of issues. Fundholders like this have established Trailblazer Funds at the Foundation which have the power and
flexibility to support innovative solutions to big issues.

When the Foundation learned about Jack & Jill’s Whole Family Strengthening Program they knew this would be the
ideal program to support through Trailblazer Funds. Together, these Funds have provided a hand up for hard working
moms like Shenakra. Shenakra is a mother to three beautiful children who has benefitted from the generosity of
Foundation Fundholders. She successfully completed the Career Advancement Course through the Whole Family
Strengthening Program, and has since maintained stability and increased her income. Within the last two years,
Shenakra paid off her car and increased her credit score by over 150 points. These were goals that she made for
herself and she achieved them all. Her long-term goal is to be an entrepreneur and have a dessert business. She is
taking the first step by sharing her creations on social media. Thank you to the following Funds at the Community
Foundation of Broward who provided the resources for this program and have changed the lives of Shenakra and her
        three children.

        Leonard & Sally Robbins Fund

         • A personal touch- In working with the Foundation over the years, the staff at Jack & Jill are sometimes in awe at
how well the Foundation intimately knows their Fundholders and their values. Whenever we learn of a special need
from our teachers or parents, a call is made to the Foundation to see if there is a Fundholder who might have a place
in their heart for that project. Here are a few projects Jack & Jill has been grateful to receive support for this year:

o John Gordon Bull Fund: While Jack & Jill teachers include music in classrooms, there were never enough
instruments for all the children to play music together and children in after-school care didn’t have access to
music education at all. The Foundation connected us with the John Gordon Bull Fund, which specifically supports
children’s programs in Broward County, and was created in memory of John who was an avid music lover himself
and played a mean piano. The Fund graciously supported our instrument purchase and now our children make
beautiful music under a plaque memorializing John.

o Marsha and Alan Levy Educational Opportunity Fund: As community leaders who take pride in providing
youth with promising futures, Marsha and Alan always step up to help children in our community find their way.
This year, Marsha and Alan supported scholarships so kids from struggling working families can get a head start
              on life.

o Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock Liberman Fund: Founded in 1994 by the highly regarded
local firm, this Fund supports a wide-range of community needs and issues such as inclusion, anti-bullying, foster
care and the arts. The Fund was thrilled to support Jack & Jill when they learned we needed art supplies such as
