Water
The District manages the Village’s drinking water supply. Drinking water is sourced from non-renewable groundwater within the Denver Basin aquifers beneath District land. The water is treated at the District’s Water Treatment Facility before being distributed to the community. For further information on our water system, including our annual Consumer Confidence Report, please visit our website.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, the District recently initiated a robust water efficiency plan aimed at reducing reliance on groundwater. The objective is to decrease irrigation waste by implementing more efficient irrigation technologies. As part of this plan, each residence has been assigned a water budget that is customized to their property. More information regarding water budgets and water rates can be found on our website.
Roads
The District is responsible for maintaining the community’s road systems, encompassing repair and upkeep, street cleaning, and snow removal services. The road network within the Village covers a total of 90 lane miles.
The District’s approach to road maintenance is data-driven, ensuring equitable consideration throughout the entire community. Various factors such as asphalt conditions, rideability, and visual appearance to determine which roadways will be repaired or replaced every year are evaluated. This method ensures that every corner of the Village receives the attention it deserves.
It is essential to note that Happy Canyon Road falls under the jurisdiction of Douglas County and is maintained by them. For any non-emergency traffic or road-related concerns on Happy Canyon Road, please contact Douglas County directly.
