Report potholes by calling (303) 688-8330 weekdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
By adhering to structured maintenance plans and collaborating with relevant authorities, the District strives to ensure the safety and functionality of roadways for the entire community’s benefit.
Snowplowing Procedures
During a snowstorm, District crews work 24 hours a day to plow snow throughout the Village. However, depending on the intensity and duration of the snowstorm, it may take up to a couple of days to completely plow and clear snow from all roadways and trails within the Village. Roads within the District are plowed based on a priority system:
• Priority 1: Collector roads (roads with high traffic volumes such as Castle Pines Drive or Country Club Parkway).
• Priority 2: Local roads (roads with medium traffic volumes).
• Priority 3: Minor roads (dead-end streets and cul-de-sacs with low traffic
volumes).
The first priority in any snowstorm is to maintain emergency access to the District. Crews work to ensure that emergency vehicles (fire trucks, ambulances, etc.) can always access the Village. Consequently, Priority 1 roads are plowed first. As conditions allow, crews will start plowing Priority 2 roads. Finally, once the Priority 2 roads have been plowed, crews will
then start working on plowing Priority
3 roads. Please note that under severe storm conditions, it may be necessary to temporarily postpone Priority 2 or Priority 3 plowing operations in order to repeat plowing operations on Priority 1 roads so that emergency access to the Village can be maintained.
Once all roads have been plowed, the District will start cleanup and widening operations where needed (including cleanup of cul-de-sacs). Plowing and clearing
the trail system also commences at this time. Typically, crews do not start cleanup/ widening operations and plowing trails until after the snowstorm has ended. Due
to the quantity of roads that must be widened, it might take a couple of days to complete all clearing and widening operations. Please keep in mind that the District is responsible for cleaning over 110 cul-de-sacs as well as plowing over 11 miles of trails.
Private roads, common driveways and sub association roads are NOT maintained by the District for snow removal.
