Fifty years ago, after graduation. I was hired by Sears at the old Neptune store on Route
66. I worked in the Credit Department, first as a representative, then as an inside
collector.

In 1968, Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) had received an endowment to computerize
the hospital. It was the first hospital in this country to do so. I applied and was initially
hired as an information specialist.

As the system evolved, and they moved the specialists out of our office onto the nurse
stations, I became a supervisor responsible for training the nurses, the unit clerks, and
specialists to work the computers on the nurses’ stations.

I met my husband, Jeff, while working at MMC. I resigned from Monmouth Medical
Center after 18 years, when we were married.

In 1987, we adopted our daughter, Rebecca. I also volunteered my time with our local
chapter of Hadassah, which raises funds for the Hadassah Hospital in Israel. I was the
editor of the chapter’s Bulletin for two years.

I then became active in our Temple’s sisterhood and was, at one point, the editor of the
Temple Bulletin for five years. I served on the Sisterhood board in various positions,
including Treasurer and President. After my husband passed away in 2012, I cut back my
time with the Sisterhood and just helped out with small requests for my time.

In my free time, I paint, make collages, do some computer art, and make quilts; and of
course, spend time with Bentley.
